Finland's Participation in International Crisis Management

This map presents Finland’s participation in civilian and military crisis management. In addition to the informative data it provides, it can also serve as a source of inspiration for anybody wanting to develop visual communications on a state’s involvement in international crisis management.

The map shows the contribution of Finland to international crisis management in terms of human resources: each dot represents one or several persons seconded by Finland. Below the map, bar charts provide data on the gender of seconded personnel, the institution they are seconded to (both headquarters and field missions) and the geographic area they work in. For civilian crisis management, the gender repartition of staff is mentioned, which is a good practice example of systematic sex-disaggregated data collection.
