    Workshop Report: Strengthening CSDP-JHA Cooperation. Harmonising Narratives to Bolster Cooperation within Member States

    This is the report of the first workshop out of a series of three CoE events aimed at improving CSDP-JHA cooperation. At the centre of this workshop were the EU Member States which took the opportunity to exchange views on good practices and challenges of CSDP-JHA cooperation at the national level. The report summarises recommendations for building a more harmonised narrative on the nexus between CSDP-JHA at the national level, and on aligning internal and external security agendas.

    Workshop Report: Ways to Improve National Communication with Line Ministries / JHA Actors

    The third meeting of Cluster 3, chaired by Germany with the support of the European Centre of Excellence for Civilian Crisis Management (CoE), was dedicated to national communication with line ministries / JHA actors on civilian CSDP and brought together participants from 19 EU Member States (MS) and the EEAS. The workshop facilitated the exchange of challenges and good practices regarding communication strategies. Participants discussed communication messages and activities from different perspectives, in particular directly from the line ministries concerned (MoI, MoJ), as well as MFA and seconding agencies.

    Workshop Report: Methods and tools for improving gender balance in Missions

    On 26 March 2021, the second Cluster 5 virtual workshop on women’s participation in civilian CSDP Missions was held in the context of the implementation of civilian CSDP Compact. Following up on one of the thematic topics identified for Cluster 5 in the first workshop in January 2021, the March workshop dealt with methods and tools to enhance the recruitment and deployment of women at all levels to improve gender balance in civilian missions. The main objective of the workshop was to share experiences and good practices especially in recruitment and selection processes both at national and EU institutions and in Missions.

    Workshop Report: NIP Cluster 6 "Technology and RDI in Civilian CSDP" - First Meeting

    In the first NIP Cluster 6 meeting, chaired by the Austrian Foreign Ministry, the general idea of the Cluster was presented. Its objective is, on the one hand, to map potential areas of civilian CSDP that could benefit from technological innovation and, on the other hand, to contribute to the establishment of an informal network between civilian CSDP and RDI actors. These actors could develop projects that may qualify for funding by national or European research programmes, such as Horizon Europe.

    Workshop Report: Women's Participation in Civilian CSDP - Setting Up the Scene

    Spain and Finland convened and jointly chaired the first Cluster 5 workshop on women’s participation in civilian CSDP on 15 January 2021. The purpose of the workshop was to set the scene for the cluster and discuss the proposed topics and work plan for the Cluster in 2021-2023. The workshop was attended by seventeen EU Member States representatives and seconding agencies as well as the European External Action Service (EEAS), thus showing a widespread interest in the work of the Cluster.
