Laurie Williams

Head of Sector / Strategic Coordinator for Internal Process and Project Management

Laurie is Head of Sector / Strategic Coordinator for Internal Process and Project Management. She is part of the CoE senior management team and brings with her extensive experience leading operations, projects, people and finance. Previously, she was Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer for the UK’s Department for Business and Trade based at the British Embassy in Berlin. 

During her time at the Embassy, Laurie was involved in several consular crisis responses. She has spent most of her career working as a public servant covering various policy areas and has extensive experience leading operations, projects, people and finance. She was also a graduate researcher in the Economic History Department at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in history. She is fluent in English and German.
