Event: Exploring Progress at the Intersection of Gender, Climate, Environment and Security

The CoE and the European External Action Service (Civilian Operations Headquarters) are pleased to invite interested participants to an online event marking the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security (WPS)

This is an official side event of the Berlin Security and Climate Conference.

Discussion will centre on Exploring Progress at the Intersection of Gender, Climate, Environment and Security”, bringing together researchers and practitioners to explore how gender and environmental considerations intersect in conflict-affected contexts, and how these insights can strengthen civilian crisis management missions.

Programme Highlights

Opening remarks will be delivered by Douglas Carpenter, Head of Division, EEAS/CivOpsHQ.1, and Johanna Sumuvuori, Director of the CoE. This will be followed by a keynote address and a presentation on experiences from the field, as follows:
