CoE's First Anniversary
Today one year ago, on 25 February 2020, the European Centre of Excellence for Civilian Crisis Management was established in Berlin. It doesn’t feel like a long time ago, but since then a lot has happened. We started out with 14 members, at present the CoE counts 19 members. In addition to that, our team has grown as well. The Centre has acquired a dedicated team of 14 people – nine permanent staff and five seconded national experts from Sweden, Italy, Finland and the Netherlands. We are grateful for and appreciate the valuable work of each and every team member and are looking forward to welcoming new colleagues to our office in Berlin! We would like to express particular gratitude to our members who second highly valued personnel to support our work at the CoE.
Over the course of this past year, the CoE has been officially opened in September, hosted a workshop on women’s participation in civilian crisis management, contributed to the Annual Review Conference by producing a Report on Member State Capability Development, welcomed German Federal Foreign Minister Heiko Maas to the Centre’s premises, hosted three (virtual) General Meetings and established an ambitious workplan on how to efficiently support our members and the EEAS as a preferred partner for the coming months.
We look forward to continuing working with our members and partners!
