The fourth edition of the Handbook provides a complete, detailed, and current analysis of the European CSDP. It compiles texts from different experts involved in CSDP and presents its context, goals, stakeholders, and processes.

In March 2020, a parliamentary committee was set up and tasked to make Finland’s crisis management activities more effective and to ensure better use of resources and sufficient participation volumes. The report of the committee is an example of Member State's policy developments and concrete objectives on crisis management.

This communication strategy has been developed by the International Forum for the Challenges of Peace Operations, a global partnership of 50 stakeholders hosted by Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA). It is intended to serve as a guide and tool for Challenge Forum partners, helping them to use communication clearly and effectively, with the overall aim of helping deliver the forum’s strategy 2019-2023. It can be used as a model for the development of a communication strategy for other international organisations.

GAP III is an ambitious plan to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment through all external action of the European Union. The Women, Peace and Security agenda is one of GAP III’s key areas.

This two-page document presents practical guidance to analyse conflicts with a gender lens. Conflict analysis provides a basis for Member States to decide which EU foreign and security policy instruments to use and is part of CSDP mission planning and strategic review processes.

The toolkit gathers a large amount of tools, checklists and inspiration on how to ensure the integration of gender equality considerations into the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency's (MSB) international operations. It was initially published in 2009 in the form of a "Gender Equality Handbook" meant to support MSB staff in efforts to mainstream gender equality into international operations. The 2019 revision transformed the handbook into a toolkit. While it is still addressed to MSB staff, it offers a wealth of advice for all experts working in civilian CSDP missions as well as in UN or OSCE peace support operations.

This guidebook is about the capitalisation of experience, a process that aims at turning individual experience on the field into practical and shareable knowledge, to increase the impact of a project.

These guidelines aim to operationalise political commitments regarding gender mainstreaming in missions. Designed for CSDP civilian missions management and staff, they focus on integrating the gender dimension into the daily work of the missions.

This document revises and replaces the Generic Standards of Behaviour for ESDP Operations (2005). It addresses i.a. professional integrity, sexual and gender-based discrimination, harassment, and abuse, corruption, and discretion in handling information. The standards apply to both civilian and military CSDP missions and operations’ personnel and are coherent with comparable standards, especially those of the UN.

The document outlines the main aspects of an EEAS strategy on gender and equal opportunities for the period 2018-2023. It elaborates on its priorities, rationale, objectives and suggested actions and means of implementation. It was developed to form the strategic framework for promoting gender equality and equal opportunities for all members, in all functions and at all levels of the EEAS. It can serve as an example for other actors, institutions and organisations looking for inspiration on how to develop frameworks of their own.
