The Management Handbook for UN Field Missions

This handbook provides useful and concise reminders of good management methods and effective working practices specifically adapted to field missions.

The handbook is divided into 12 chapters covering different phases and aspects of a project (planning, communication, time management, managing security, etc.). It is enriched with real-life examples, recap charts, and checklists for self-evaluation and diagnosis.

Chapter 4 deals with communication and tackles both communication within as well as beyond an organisation's structures. Chapter 8 is focussed on knowledge management and presents both theories and practical tools to integrate knowledge management in missions.
