Practical Guidance for Gender-Sensitive Conflict Analysis

This two-page document presents practical guidance to analyse conflicts with a gender lens. Conflict analysis provides a basis for Member States to decide which EU foreign and security policy instruments to use and is part of CSDP mission planning and strategic review processes.

A gender-sensitive conflict analysis is the systematic study of the gendered causes, structures, stakeholders and dynamics of conflict and peace, that enables more informed and effective action. This guide presents common pitfalls, guiding questions and key components of a gender-sensitive conflict analysis.
