Reetta Purontakanen is a strategic communications professional with over 25 years of experience in international affairs, crisis management, media relations, and foreign policy communications. She is seconded to the CoE from the communications team of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.

At the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Reetta has, among other roles, served as a Senior Specialist on Strategic Communications, Press Counsellor at the Embassy of Finland in Tokyo, Communications Desk Officer responsible for Western Europe, and Communications Specialist for Europe Information. Earlier in her career, she was seconded by Finland to the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo and to several election observation missions with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), including in Ukraine.

Reetta holds a Master's degree from King's College London. Her professional interests also include comprehensive security, country branding, and crisis communication.
